(1) | Manage the installation of Windows 10 Feature Updates by using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). | ||||||||||
(2) | Defer the installation of Windows 10 Feature Updates by either of the following methods. | ||||||||||
(a) | From the Start menu, select Settings, Update & Security, Windows Update, Advanced options, and then for Choose when updates are installed, select Semi-Annual Channel(Targeted) or Semi-Annual Channel as the branch readiness level, select 120 days or more as the number of days to defer the installation of Windows 10 Feature Updates#2#3. | ||||||||||
(b) | Start up the local group policy editor, and from the tree on the left, click Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Update, and then Windows Update for Business. From the setting items displayed on the right, enable Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are received, and then for Select the Windows readiness level for the updates you want to receive, select Semi-Annual Channel(Targeted) or Semi-Annual Channel, for After a Preview Build or Feature Update is released, defer receiving it for this many days, select 120 days or more#2#3. | The above action is not required for the LTSC version of Windows 10 Enterprise. #1: HIBUN will support Windows 10 (version 1903) as the following schedule. | |||||||||
When you perform installation of HIBUN client, please select Semi-Annual Channel. If you perform installation of HIBUN client on an environment where you selected as Semi-Annual Channel(Targeted), the error message, SFINSTCL_MSGID_0198 Installation is not possible because certain prerequisites are not met. will be displayed and installation failed. #3 If you select Semi-Annual Channel, the configured number of deferral days would be added 60 days. For example, if you configured 120 days as the number of deferral days with selecting Semi-Annual Channel, Windows 10 (version 1903) updates would be deferred 180 days. The configuration of 60 deferral days is only added to Windows 10 (version 1903) updates and not added to later version. |
